Coronado

With its sheltered coves and sandy beaches, Coronado is one of the most picturesque towns in California. The town gets its name from Spanish explorer Pedro de Unamuno y Tobis, who was shipwrecked here in 1539. He was found by Indians and taken to their village – where he was fed, housed and treated like a king. Upon his rescue, they named him “the Rescuer”. The town has been a popular vacation spot ever since.. but that doesn’t mean you know it as well! It’s often overlooked for more popular coastal destinations like San Diego or Santa Monica.
The best time to visit Coronado is spring and fall.

As a coastal town, Coronado is warm year-round. However, spring is the best time to visit as the weather is much milder. Summer can also be warm, but is usually wet. Fall is the best time to visit Coronado as the weather is usually crisp and sunny. Visiting during the winter should be avoided, as the weather is usually very cold and rainy. If you’re interested in visiting outside of the spring and fall, you can visit Coronado in winter for the beach or spring for the flowers. During winter, the beaches are usually not as crowded and there are fewer tourists. This can be a nice change from summer crowds. Next article.
